After Breakfast at the hotel, the day begins at the beautiful Kings Park botanic gardens with time to experience a walk through the tree's canopies on the Tree Top Walkway giving a bird’s eye view of Perth's city skyline. Continue to one of Perth's best beaches Cottesloe Beach before arriving at the historic port town of Fremantle. Time is allowed for a walk down the main street, enjoy a coffee at one of the many cafes (own expense) or perhaps find a bargain at the markets (Fri, Sat & Sun only). 1. Due to being located on the western end of Australia, far removed from the more popular eastern end, flights can be expensive when travelling to Perth. It is recommended to book flights well in advance and look out for deals.
2. The public transport system is affordable and is great for getting around the city. Visitors are advised to get the SmartRider card for AUD 10 which greatly reduces travel costs in the city.
3. Uber fares are generally cheaper than the local taxis which are quite expensive.
4. Accomodation options are not cheap in Perth. Most hostels typically start from around AUD 25 for small dorms and above AUD 70 for private rooms. Budget hotel rooms generally start from AUD 100.
